Gaining Healthy Pregnancy Weight

I decided to put something that mostly every pregnant woman might ask themselves since they want to make sure they are gaining enough, and not too much. Yes, you can gain too much weight while pregnant. Who would have thought? Although, if you're like me then any weight is too much weight haha.

Happy Reading, until next time!

You need to make sure you put on the pregnancy weight that you should in order to maintain a healthy pregnancy for both you and your baby. Depending on the weight that you were before you conceived, the amount you have to gain is determined based on your BMI (body mass index). Depending on the weight range you were in, and the height you are you may need to gain more or less weight throughout your pregnancy. This is because too much, or too little weight can be a problem for the pregnancy.

If you’re at a normal weight and height then you should gain around 25-35 pounds during your pregnancy. If you’re under weight then gaining 30-40 pounds in recommended, and if you’re a little bit overweight then you should gain 20-30 pounds. Normally if you’re obese then you should only gain around 15-20 pounds, but this depends on your situation. Your healthcare provider can better assess your specific pregnancy. These are all just estimations of weight gain needed for a normal, healthy pregnancy. Each woman is different, and therefore might have a different weigh gain plan.

Providing that you eat well, and make sure to get the exercise you need then you should be all set to go. Putting on the proper weight will also help you shed it easier after the baby is delivered. You should always try to eat healthy throughout the pregnancy. This will help balance the weight gain without going over, and help to gain the weight you need in a healthy way. This is something that every pregnant woman should look into. You want to ensure that you’re gaining a healthy amount of weight, and also making sure your baby is getting the proper nutrition that it needs to develop.

This is something that can be done when you make sure you gain the proper amount of pregnancy weight that is recommended for your specific situation. Always make sure to ask your doctor or healthcare provider about any nutrition or pregnancy weight questions you might have regarding if you’re putting on too much or not enough for a healthy pregnancy. You should not worry since they will be there every step of the way.
